FAQs for Punjab And Sind Bank Bharti 2025 |
What is the purpose of this recruitment advertisement from Punjab & Sind Bank?
Punjab & Sind Bank is inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens for lateral recruitment of Local Bank Officers in JMGS I (Junior Management Grade Scale I). They are seeking to fill 110 posts across various states in India. Note that present employees of Punjab and Sind Bank are ineligible for these positions.
What are the key eligibility criteria for applying to these positions?
Applicants must be Indian citizens (or meet specific criteria for subjects of Nepal/Bhutan, Tibetan Refugees, or persons of Indian origin from specified countries), be between 20 and 30 years old as of 01.02.2025 (with age relaxations for certain categories), hold a degree (graduation) in any discipline from a recognised University and possess work experience of 18 months or more in Officer cadre in any Public Sector Bank/ Regional Rural Bank. It is crucial that the candidate has language proficiency in the state they are applying for.
What age relaxations are available, and how are they applied?
Age relaxations are provided for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (5 years), Other Backward Classes - Non-creamy layer (3 years), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (10 years), persons affected by 1984 riots (5 years) and Ex-Servicemen (5 years). SC/ST/OBC candidates can avail cumulative relaxation with only one of the remaining categories (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities or persons affected by 1984 riots). Relevant certificates are required as proof. The maximum age specified is applicable to General Category candidates and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Category Candidates.
What is the selection procedure for these positions?
The selection process involves a written test, screening, a personal interview, and proficiency in the local language of the state being applied for. A final merit list is created. The written test includes sections on English Language, Banking Knowledge, General Awareness/Economy and Computer Aptitude. Candidates must achieve minimum qualifying marks/percentage in each section and a minimum total score to be shortlisted for the interview. After the interview, final scores are calculated based on the combined marks of the written test and personal interview. A local language test is conducted for provisionally selected candidates.
What documents are required for the online examination and document verification?
Candidates must produce a call letter, a valid photo ID proof (PAN Card/Passport/Driving Licence/Voter’s Card/Bank Passbook with photograph/Identity Card issued by a recognised college/University/Aadhaar Card/E-Aadhaar Card with photograph/Employee ID), and relevant documents supporting their eligibility claims. This includes certifications from Standard Xth onwards (Semester-wise marksheets and Provisional / Final Degree Certificate for Graduation & PG), work experience documents, Caste/Category/Disability certificates (if applicable), an Income and Asset Certificate (for EWS candidates), and a discharge certificate/No Objection Certificate from current employers (if applicable). The candidate's identity will be verified with respect to his/her details on the call letter, in the Attendance List and requisite documents submitted. If identity of the candidate is in doubt the candidate may not be allowed to appear for the written test. Ration Card and Learners Driving License will not be accepted as valid id proof for this process.
How do I apply for these positions, and what are the important instructions to follow?
Applications must be submitted online through the Punjab & Sind Bank website (https://punjabandsindbank.co.in/). Before applying, carefully review the instructions for scanning and uploading photograph, signature, thumb impression, hand-written declaration, and documents. Ensure you have a valid email ID and mobile number that remain active throughout the process. The online application requires uploading images and documents in specific formats and sizes. Also, candidates are advised not to change their appearance till the process is completed. Any doubt about photograph or signature at any stage of the process could lead to disqualification.
